October 31, 2010 - January 9, 2011
Curator: Tracy Longley-Cook, Assistant Professor of photography at Wright State University, Dayton, OH
Constructed Territory is a juried thematic exhibit that will display a variety of artists from all disciplines who use maps, the art of cartography, or topographical explorations (both physical and conceptual) within their work. The artists selected for this exhibit each explore the concept of "constructed territory" from a range of perspectives — investigating ideas of place, history, networking systems, and personal geography.
Work for the exhibition was selected from national entries. The show is being curated by Tracy Longley-Cook, an Assistant Professor of photography in the Department of Art and Art History at Wright State Univesity in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her MFA from Arizona State University in the spring of 2007 and received her BFA from the University of Washington in 1997. She also spent a year studying at the Maine Photographic Workshops, 1994-9595. She has exhibited and published her work internationally.
